If you learn anything from this BB it will be that the upper idler pully fails and should be inspected/replaced as part of preventative maintenance.
And when that goes, the belt does not work and your alternator does not work, thats one light. And the coolant pump does not work. As that point the engine should not be run any significant amount.
You over heated your engine and boiled out the coolant (thats another light). After that it was getting baked. The hot spot is the head and it was empty. You risk serious damage doing what you did.
You were also driving without power steering and that can be a problem. Your power assist braking is good while the engine is running.
After the belt and pully are fixed, I would add water and do get the system full, then pressure test for leaks if in a shop, or cap it and run for a while to see if there are any obvious leaks. Then I would flush the cooling system and fill etc. The thermostat might not be happy after been overheated and perhaps it can be easily replaced while doing everthing else.
The pullies can fail at any time if they are worn and dry. But ones that are getting there do not like cold weather.
