900S OBD Readiness ... Latest Installment

I know some of you are perched on the edge of your seat waiting for the next installment of the OBD readiness issue I am having with my 900S '96!
It has now been back at the dealer for a week, after I left it there basically telling them "Give it me back when it's passed smog". I think they spent a couple of days messing around trying to get the codes to set thenselves, without luck.
So they sent it off to a place in Glendale who specialise in Saabs. This is the same place that did the work on my soft top. Nice guys. I just spoke to them, and this is what they said:
All the codes are now showing ready, except one, which is blinking. There was apparently a bad earth, so they attached a second earthing point to the computer. They are checking out the cause of the blinking code (I don't know which one it is). They said that the car would already pass smog, but that they wanted to fix that problem before giving the car back to me, to avoid future problems.
So this sounds promising. I wonder if anybody else has heard of a bad earth being a cause of OBD non-readiness in 96-98 Saabs?
Julian
