I'm having a hell of a time installing a new expansion valve in my 1995 900SE v6. I removed the old one, (what a PITA, due to the allen screw blocked by the hose), but I can't get the new one to seal up properly. I keep tearing the orings, especially the upper one from the evaporator. Its really hard to get the thing assembled because you have to put the outer clamp and allen screw together with the expansion valve before you wrestle it on to the pipes coming through the firewall. Every time I put it together it leaks (under vacuum)from where the top evaporator pipe meets the expansion valve. I've been using silicon grease to assemble everything. I'm getting new orings today and I'm going to try again tonight, but I'm getting pretty frusterated. Is there some trick to this?
