It's always the question on how much is it worth to not get the fingers dirty.
You can also find an Saab independant shop but I don't think the price will be that much less (maybe around $400-450) but you will get more bang for the bucks compared to the dealer.
Things that should be replaced are all the fluids (engine, trans, brake and coolant)
Most of the filters (engine, air and pollen) fuel filter is good until 60K.
Spark plugs.
Rotate and balance tires.
Read/reset all fault codes in all computers (to get a look at if something is starting to go bad even though no warning lights are on at the time).
Overall check up of the whole car.
What you don't get when doing it yourself is the knowledge of service bulletins that the dealer have and many times perform free of charge as long as the car is under warranty (at least the good dealers).
What can also be difficult for a DIY is to dispose properly of the hazardous waste that is generated, coolant in one jug, engine oil in another and brake fluid in a third one.
