My '01 might be slightly different than your '99, but it just pulls out, then you unplug one big connector.
I found it easier to pull the radio out, reach in thru the hole, & push the SID from the back. That way you don't have to pry around the edge, leaving marks in the dash face.
It's plug & pray. When you put it back in, it'll lose your cumulative data for miles & gas mileage. Also, it'll forget the year & date. By resetting the date, you'll probably get the 'time for service' warning, because that uses the SID's calendar. So just pay attention to miles & months from your last service.
