They are just cast iron, common cast iron, like other rotors everywhere. Some nice plating at the hub area, but nothing to distingish them from others. You can save a few hundred dollars by doing the work yourself with after market rotors, which are also common cast iron.
The Saab OEM pads are a composite material, all brake pads are. These have been very abrasive? There are pads that last longer that do not eat the rotors.
What year and miles? Some get Saab to pay for all or some of early wear.
In my 95SET I changed the front pads and rotors, as part of a mid life renewal. At 130,000 miles I had 1/4" of pad friction material remaining. With a 5 spd and expressway commuting. Saab pads were not always so nasty. With my 03 9-5 Aero I changed the pads on the third day of ownership to protect the rotors.
