Move off on any ice and snow condition
in W and when you are rolling, switch it off.
Use it to eliminate any wheelspin. That
way, you always feel in control and won't
lose the car sideways, especially on ice.
Simply using it tunes you in to your traction
conditions and trains you to be a better ice &
snow driver through practice.
My wife is a nervous nellie driver. She
abhors any wheelspin at all. She loves this
feature.
As I write, we in Calgary are running -30 C or
so (no windchill factor added) with hard-packed
ice on most city streets except the really well-
travelled ones, and even those have black ice now.
I use W to proceed from a stop at 3/4 of all intersections
and when I get going, I exit the function and power
up as I have achieved traction.
Never have I used this feature as frequently as
now and it's just great! You get good at it.
