The history of the pre-2003 9-3 2.0L cars is not encouraging. 80-100k miles is when most expensive problems happen. If you do buy the extended warranty, get the longer one.
Judging by experience with a 1996 SE turbo which has similar parts, $4-5k in repairs over two years. Even with shopping around and doing some work myself, and not including a couple repairs between 50 and 80k miles.
I would say the things you can definitely expect to fail will cost close to half of the extended warranty. A blown or leaking headgasket can cost $2k to fix, a fuel pump $1k including labor, a water pump $4-500.
I recently looked at a couple used 2000-2001 9-3 2.0 SE's, both with bad SID displays (around $500), one with a bad shift linkage, bad headlight wiper motor, history of failing DI cassettes ($300)... same problems as the 1994-98 production.
