2000 9-3 Viggen with 51K on the clock. Just bought it at Thanksgiving. Well, I stopped to fill the tank with 91 octane. That done, I slid behind the wheel, inserted and turned the key, and listened to the starter run on and on. Turned the ig. off and tried again. Same story. Thought if I let her sit for 30+ minutes, she would come to her senses and start. No go.

Upon opening the hood, I smelled a distinct burning epoxy/plastic smell. I pushed on the DI to see it was loose. Nope. Snug. But on of the areas I pushed was 20+ times hotter than anywhere else on the cover. It was over the cylinder closest to the driver (cylinder #1?).

Wel, it is on its way to my Indie mechanic. I am relieved though, since I purchased the WYNNs extended warranty from the dealer. I have not called them yet, but I've heard they are pretty easy to work with.

I'll re-post when this issue is resolved. Wish me luck that its just teh cassette. I can't afford to be without my car a whole day.
