It carries the control arms, sway bar bushings and perhaps some engine mounts, never got deep into that. It bolts up to the body and control arms etc bolt up to it. It is not routinely replaced. Mounts with 6 bolts to the body. Have a look, it is easy to see, hot dipped galanized steel. Could be bent in an accident or slide where a front wheel took a hard hit as the control arm would transfer the load to it. The SF is quite soft, as steel goes, as the hot dip galvanization anneals it. The Viggen is low to the ground and perhaps a road hazard could damage it. If the SF is damaged, the camber could easily then be bad, and the tow-in would then also be off as a result and the steering wheel would be off center. But the good news is that is can be replaced if need be so you should have one that is good.

I would be quite curious about the camber on all four wheels etc. There is no adjustment provision to change it. Drive the vehicle. Does it pull to one side? Is the wheel centered? Look at all four wheels. Any look strange as far as angles are concerned. Look at the tire wear patterns.

Will the dealer work with you to resolve any such issues?
