tapping sound, faster with higher RPMs, replaced DIC

I just replaced my DIC a few minutes ago and while I was at it put in new SAAB specific spark plugs. upon replacement, the car started right up, but now there is a strong tapping sound that is specific to RPMS, it taps faster with higher RPMs. The car needs an oil change as it's about 1000 miles over it's limit and I will get that done tomorrow and after that will put some oil cleaner in the motor, as suggested in a few other threads, but what could cause this? The car is a 1999 9-3 Automatic 2.0L turbo. I put in the spark plugs that the dealership gave me, and gapped them to .39. I am going to try putting the old spark plugs back in and see if that changes anything.
