For reasons that are not understood, the FPRs often go bad as a consequence of having the fuel filter replaced. I keep asking for someone to send me one of these failed FPRs for a failure analysis, but nothing yet.

So if your filter was replaced, we have seen this pattern many times.

I can recall a single post where there was hard staring and replacing the filter fixed the problem. That would have been a restrictive filter. I ran the filter on my 95SET and changed it out at around 100K and then opened it up. There was a lot of media that had not started to show signs of dirt. So these will last a long time, but a tank of crappy gas could change that in a hurry.

So is the new and cheaper FPR better than the old one? Who knows.....

FPR is easy to DIY replace.
