'01 SE, vin 12001372 5 spd.
Got the car with 27k, now has 69k.
#9 and #10 were more loose than the rest but no apparant leaks.
No sludge! I was happy to see this. I assume it would be in the pools that form in the front of the head. None in the bottom of these pools or anywhere else. Now the part that won't make me popular; oil changes about every 8 or 9k using Quaker State Semi-synthetic 5w40. My commute is 45 min. with no stop and go so my car gets plenty hot... I do suscribe to something reccomended on the 9000 board when I had my Aero and that is to top up the oil even when down 1/2 qt.
Changed plugs too.. BCPR6ES looked perfect. Insulator was a light tan. Using a loupe (like Jack Roush) I noticed tiny specs of a light deposit on the darker tan ground prong. The outer ring of the plug body had a slight flake deposit of black carbon. Plugs had 20k on them and the gap had opened to .045". All looked inentical. Cheers, C.
