Same problem that you posted early last fall?
Pull the plugs and see what they look like. Do this yourself. When you have running problems, this should be your first course of action. Check plug gap, set to .035 to .037". Look for cracks in the ceramic insulators, inside and out. Replace if they are questionable. NGK BPCR6ES11
Over 115K by now? When checking the plugs, note the 4 digit date code on the bottom of the DI, it reads year|year|week|week or 2034 would be the 34th week of 2002. Might be 3420, figure it out. You want to know how old the DI is. Kown anyone so you can do a DIC test swap?
Any sing of oil leaking from the four coil projections of the DIC?
Hot runnung problems sort of sound like a bad crankshaft position sensor, but when they go its usually normal running or nothing at all.
Clean injectors, use a bottle of Techron Concetrate from the parts store, follow directions on the bottle.
Check VAC lines, the one to the fuel pressure regulator (FPR) and the other to the manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP). The small hoses can harden and crack or split. Other VAC leaks would not have such effects on the T5 engine management system.
Does it cold start ok?
MPGs on highway?
Any CELs?
Oil consumption?
Idle speed is normal? ever gets high? normal is a bit under 1000 RPMs.
Do you ever get good boost and power, boost indictor to start of red?
