I've used Mobil 1 on all my cars since around 1990, and see no reason to think the news oils will be of any less quality. From what I understand the new SM oils have slightly lower additive levels. Perhaps they can do this because there is now less sulphur in our gas, thus less acidity from combustion. The long life oils look to be slightly beefed up versions of the older stuff. The only thing that annoys me, is they moved their 15W50 into the long life catagory and it will now cost more :>(. I use that on my bike, and have been using it 50/50 with 0W40 in my Saab and Miata. I have a couple more oil changes worth of 0W40 so I probably won't try this oil until 2006!!! (execept for the bike).
