Educated key twisting..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Thu, 24 Mar 2005 14:51:40 In Reply to: 2000 Saab 93 Convertible Rear Seat, Rich B, Wed, 23 Mar 2005 11:33:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sometimes you gotta' torque that key pretty hard while pushing the seat against the latch thereby releasing the pressure on the latch. That is instead of trying to fold/pull it down, while you're twisting the key "hard" you sorta lean into the seat to release the pressure.
It's kinda' like bending or aligning a door. You sorta' have to have a feel for how much force you can give it and not damage it. Service advisors, mechanics, tow truck drivers and the like are generally good at this. Not to bruise your ego, but have one of the aforementioned types try it for you.
