The black part on top of the engine is the camshaft cover, a.k.a. the valve cover. The part I mentioned is on the back side, pointing toward the passenger seat. A plastic "nipple" with two hoses, one larger going to a hard pipe and one smaller going to a short hose, then to what passes for a PCV valve on a Saab, then to the throttle body.
The valve is easy, the nipple you have to take a little care with, but all three parts, bushing, nipple, and valve can be replaced without tools. Some people think the valve should be replaced every 30k miles, because it can clog with old oil, stick open, and allow boost pressure from the throttle body to pressurize the valve cover, which causes other problems...
