Agreed. I think this makes sense for my AC. Turns on great. If the humidity is low, runs a pretty long time. High humidity, shuts down quickly. Don't see the dripping water from the condenser. Had the system pressure checked, and a recharge, no leaks, same problem.
This started occuring before my 80K/Km warranty expired, but was too poisoned with my dealer for their prevous repair/damage/denials/pointed nastyness to my car to go back to them. Now it's hot and I'm really kicking myself not taking care of this earlier. D'oh! Live and learn.
86K now.
Hate to go to them and just let them loose, I'd have to start selling my blood for cold air. Looked into it, think (hope) its a sensor. Can you replace the Condenser expansion valve?
Anyone want to outline the testing of the condensor? Hook up the lead to the battery?
What are the actual testing proceedures to diagnose my problem? Any thoughts?
Also, anyone want to take a guess at getting SAAB to goodwill this one? Month wise my warranty should be expiring this month.
This is my second SAAB after an earlier (and happy enough) life in VW's. Walked away from a 60Km head-on in my first 00 9-3 without even having hit the airbags (they fired). Nice seats/belts/crumple zone. I'm sold for a while. (by the way, crash was with a 03 M3 Cabrio, sheesh) But I'd love a little back-rub from my friends at SAAB, make me want to buy another, going to try a diff dealer. I'll try asking, but I _really_ want AC.
Have a 00 SE.
Cheers.
Walt
