Sorry about what happened, I'm anxious to here if they fix it ok. I'm terrified of doing the same thing, so I do two things to help prevent it. First, whenever I'm putting the bike on the roof, I first put a little orange cone in the garage opening. In addition, I take the door opener off the visor and toss it somewhere so I have to fish around for it, hopefully that will jog the mind into remembering there's something on the roof. So far so good. It's funny, my buddy that told me about tossing the garage door opener ended up putting hit bike on his car while it was still in the garage, then proceeded to back out (doh!). Nothing is failsafe I guess.
