I'm guessing you've already removed the silencer & ported the throttle body transition casting? You've already reduced the restriction OUT of the engine with the Sport Exhaust, so there are only two other things I see that will make your work worthwhile:
1) Definitely get the flare on your intake. I replaced the standard snorkel on my '90 N/A 900 (it's got a very narrow neck, maybe 1" to 1-1/2" across, but a huge flare of nearly 3") with all 3" diameter pipe. With that size pipe, there was no room for any kind of flare. Not only did I NOT gain anything, but I actually acquired a new dead spot in first gear when starting out from a stop. When I swapped back in the OE snorkel, the dead spot went away & all the good stuff remained. When I have the time, I'll try a 2-1/2" pipe with a small flare.
2) Upgrade the IC to the '00 model's flow path. When Saab changed the intake from 2" to 3" IN '00, they also went from the double-back IC to the straight-thru ("Viggen") IC. You've decreased the intake's restriction before the turbo, but it's still getting choked between the turbo & the TB.
Of course, this is still not completely tested in my own '99 9³, so take that into consideration. I've got the 3" flared intake on, the silencer removed & the TBTC ported. They've all helped in tiny increments. It's not worth it to me to do any more work until the exhaust rusts out (again). I'll do both the Sport Exhaust & the IC upgrade at that point.
