I battled this CEL code on my 99 viggen for about 3-4 months too. It was driving me crazy! I finally fixed it and it was something very easy to do and easily overlooked. What I had to do was remove the cable that connects the negative battery terminal to the engine at the engine end, clean everything up with sandpaper and reinstall. I found this out by ohming out the connection with a DMM between the battery end of the cable and the engine block. (with the battery disconnected) There was something like 0.4ohm resistance. May not seem like much, but for a 0-1v DC signal it can mess everything up (effectively lowers the voltage the ECU sees from the o2 sensor). It's been almost a year since I cleaned the connection and the CEL has never come back on!! It used to come on every few days or so, so I would suggest anyone seeing this CEL code start by cleaning/checking the grounds. -tom
