'01 SE 5spd. 71k, K&N, new plugs, original DI. Cleaned throttle body, BPV, BPC and checked lines and plumbing. Removed inspected but didn't really clean the MAF. P0101 comes back after being cleared after about 45 minutes of driving. The symptoms: 1/2 the time my car drives perfectly! Comes on boost perfectly. The other times it stops at 1/4 yellow and the power falls right off. For example, this morning it drove perfectly for 45 minutes. I hooked up my code reader and cleared the P0101. I actually switched off the car while going down the road (KeyOnEngineOff(KOEO)) to clear the code and when I restarted it the no boost condition was back for the rest of my trip. One other thing I have noticed is that when I start the car cold at work and go out the slightly uphill driveway, as I have to push a little harder on the gas for the uphill, the car falls flat off. Almost like you switched it off. I lift and it comes back (didn't used to do that).
My question: Does the P0101 (MAF) mean it should be JUST the MAF or does it mean as the AutoZone readout said, that all the other sensors together don't agree with real conditions (i.e. throttle position, barometric pressure, temp ect.)? Would a Saab scan localize the problem more than this Actron scanner? Remember that 1/2 the time, my car runs perfectly. This has been going on for 4 months. Sorry so long. Thanks, Cris
