It is sometimes tough to find software updates once out of warranty because if you go to the dealership and ask them to check and it turns out that there are none then you have to pay them for checking your car. However the way I have seen it done by my mechanic is he hooks up his Tech 2 to the car's computer, gets the info from it, then hooks it up to the computer and checks for the updates on the computer. If there are any for your car it will show up...or should. I would ask to speak directly to a mechanic because he may know a little bit more about when the updates come out. Some service writers really don't know much about new software or recalls, etc. Hopefully you have a mechanic that works on your car all the time. It is always a good idea to become buddies with your mechanic.
