After years and years of Volvos from a '61 544 to a '91 740 and several 240's and turbos along the way I have to admit the Saab was a better choice. They handle better, their electrical system is more reliable, and if you ever feel homesick know that most of the fuel delivery system is quite similar if not identical. The Saabs have a terrible resale value, good to buy used. I am talking my sister into buying one now after her problems wth VW. You'll see better gas mileage with the Saab and it's at least as safe, when you facor in the 'active safety' of handling it's safer. A few of the minor engineering details I notice on the Saab like the fact that the turbo is in the front of the car not near the firewall (natural 'hot spot') and the ease of an oil change do it for me. Not sure about the new ones yet, they keep decontenting them....You'll love your choice, welcome aboard!
