Neutral safety switch?

I am having the occasionally not starting problem. Car starts fine come back a little later and it won't start. I have all power and I can hear the fuel pump working. I wait awhile (or longer) and then it starts right up. I have a 2000 9-3 with automatic. I remember reading on the board somewhere about a possibly loose wire from the battery to the starter. I tightened that and everything seemed fine for about 2 weeks, but it is happening again. So before I drop almost $300 for a neutral saftey switch is there anything else I should check? I don't believe it is the battery because it doesn't seem to do the typical dieing battery things. I also have tried the moving of the gear selector and that dosen't work. Thaks for the input.
