Hola amigos -

My '00 9-3 Viggen Cab 230PS (49.000kms - all services taken, not long ago: the 50K service) started last week to let me down, after 4 months of problemless driving ...

Here's the story: Having been driving this beauty for 4 months quite "active and normal" at the highways here, last week "something happended" in the engine room .. this was during overtaking another car, and the Viggen was pushed a bit to leave the Porche behind , then suddenly ... pooooooof ... engine "dies" for a second, lurks for 2-3 seconds .. I removed my right foot a bot from the accellerator .. and then engine goes back to normal .. however now I dont push the acellerator much anymore, quite surprised of what happened. I guess the situation was some kind of fuel cut-off or boost blow-off - any tips?

Well, as I said, this was the first time in my 4 months of having this car, this kind of experience happened.

But .. This eposode seem to have made my car hyper-sensitive to accelleration, it simply don't allow me to push the pedal nearly at all (not harder than a egg can take, zB) ... After this cut-off/blow-off, I nearly cannot put any weight on the acellerator before the same happens again, driving 30 or 60 or 90 and pushing it more than just a bit at the time, same thing - ... poooof luuurk haaark ... not even passing 3K rpms nor being off the low-greens of the boost meter. So, there is something inside there that needs to be changed / adjusted / replaced...

So, instead of letting a local Saab shop decide how much of the car they would like to replace (letting them decide = fear ... could be engine & most of the rest also, I guess, if it was up to them and I didn't have a clue) ..

Can anybody shed some light onto this - what "part" of the underhood stuff must most probably be replaced / corrected?

Any tips what to check for, would be highly appreciated!

Gracias!
Sabeltann
