The CD changer with a plug-and-play MP3 unit and still retail OEM steering wheel and headunit controls?
Simple answer: not possible.
You can get a new headunit, but you'll lose steering wheel controls. You can use an FM modulator, but won't get CD quality sound or steering wheel/headunit controls.
The communication protocol between the headunit and the CD changer must be enabled via a dealer's Tech 2, which is why you can't just attach any old aux device to the headunit. Sorry.
BTW, this post should be in the 9-3BB, not the General.
