Turbo seal, yes. Oil throughout catalytic converter and exhaust. Common, and expensive, because consequences include some damage to cat converter, exhaust, fouled O2 sensors...
Call some turbo rebuilders before the mechanic starts on the car, some are listed in posts on the performance board. Getting a rebuilt turbo lined up yourself and shipped to the mechanic could be much cheaper than buying one through the indy shop, the local distributor, or the dealer. Be prepared to pay a hefty core charge, but the final cost could be 1/3, plus labor.
Look for the front O2 sensor to need replacing soon after if fouled with oil, and check into aftermarket cat converters just in case you need that too, the Saab oem converter is astronomical... $1.5k list price for the converter alone.
