I've had a similar issue. Basically mine is like a rough idle occassionally dipping below it's normal idle. Seems to be worse when starting cold, or after hard driving while idling at a light. My issue goes away with an oil change. I have a new DI (within the last 8k miles), and have been checked out for the sludge issue; it's fine. It's also done it both before the crankcase fix, after it was performed, and even after they undid the fix. No leaks, drips, knocks or smells, and no bad rubber noticed. Basically, it seems to me that for whatever reason, the computer sets the idle low, then tries to compensate, then goes back to a stumbling idle. I've started looking at it as a reminder when to change my oil...
But I'm looking into the MAF sensor now based on other issues, and I'd guess a bad sensor may cause this type of behavior by fooling the computer into thinking there is more or less air coming into the engine. I'm no mechanic though.... my dealership couldn't "replicate the problem" since it's kinda random, so I've been living with it.
