If you are planning to use existing SAAB amp, then these speakers will be a huge overkill, as only the low frequencies are being sent there. This also means that you do not need any crossovers.
I tried a $150-something 3 way Pioneer Premier speakers there -- I must say they did not sound any different to me than the stock SAAB speakers.
In fact, I liked the SAAB's speakers better. Pioneers sounded crisp, but not pleasant. They were also a pain to mount.
Not sure how they will sound if fed a full frequency range from a separate amplifier.
Also, do not read much into specs. My sub's lower level is actually spec'ed at 100 Hz; Pioneers - 35 Hz. I hooked them at home to the same amplifier, and ... boy -- what a difference: pioneers with their 35 Hz are nowhere near the sub with its 100 Hz limit. Drums through the pioneers sound totally wrong, compared to the sub.
I wonder how they come up with these numbers ...
