Hi,

We have a '99 9-3 SE. It's the first SAAB either my husband and I have owned and we love it!

However, I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone will have some thoughts on. First of all, periodically the auto transmissions shifter knob locks up completely and won't shift out of park. The "catch" at the back of the shifter won't move at all. Sometimes, if the brake is pushed in all the way, we can slightly push the shifter knob forward (while in the Park position) and then the catch will lift up and shifting the car into drive is smooth and easy. This doesn't happen all the time but enough to cause us a bit of concern. Any thoughts as to what might be happening?

Secondly, the power lock button between the seats doesn't work. The power locks do (with either the keyless entry or the key itself) but the button does nothing. What might be the trouble here? The other buttons on that panel work great - sunroof, windows etc. - just the locks.

I'd really be grateful for any help you might give on this. I'm so impressed by this forum and all the helpful info. Thanks!
