non-Winter Tires

The weather here in NJ is really nice the past few days, so it's got me thinking about spring and taking off my snows. I didn't keep the last set when I got the snows on this winter, so I need to buy a new set of non-Winter tires this Spring, and was wondering what kind to buy.
I followed the advice of most on this board and got a set of Nokians last winter, so I figure this is the best place to ask for advice for regular tires. I also assume there are going to be 2 new threads a day asking the same thing soon like there was w/ the snow tires ;).
On the performance to ride scale I'm looking for something more on the performance side. I don't need really hard core performance tires, but I want something more than a typical all-season "performance" tire. I don't want to sacrifice too much ride quality, but would rather lean towards the performance end of the spectrum -- maybe a little smoother than the snows would be fine.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Jim F
