It happened again! I posted in April about PS fluid leaking leaking everywhere at the same time (reservoir, hoses, PS pump) and spraying onto the serpentine belt, enough leakage to drip onto pavement. Shop cleaned it up, tightened the hose fittings, and and tried reproducing the event but they couldn't so they fre-illed the reservoir and sent me off. No porblem for two weeks and then bam! It happens again... I lose about half the PS fluid and its leakiing at every seam in the system. Brought it back to the shop for a second time... they once again could not diagnose. I refilled the reservoir and it seems to be holding now.
My theory is that the pressure relief valve in the power steering pump is sometimes not doing its job and the pressure is getting too high leading to leaks. I would hate to replace the costly PS pump at 130K. Anyone want to venture a guess as to whats going on? Thanks!
