Balance chain removal

I just got my car back after having the rod bearings and crank bearings replaced (see previous post linked below for details). One rod bearing was actually cracked in three pieces (!).
I opted to have the balance chain removed at the same time, from the bottom of the engine, and w/o removing any of the other balance shaft system parts.
Q.: Wondering if anyone who actually had this done, and is driving a 1994-'98 model has any tips to offer on problems to watch for as a result. I understand the theory of the Lancaster/Mitsu shafts, and why they are there, but I am looking for driving experience after removal on this car.
Thanks.
