99 9-3SE headlight problem

I am getting ready to head from Florida to Maine on Monday and have got a puzzler. The drivers side high beam does not activate and I get a 'front light failure' message on the SID. I have:
1) checked and recheckd the bulb, tests fine
2) swapped bulbs from side to side, same issue on drivers side with known good bulb
3)checked and rechecked relays, test fine
4) swapped relays, same issue on drivers side
5)checked and rechecked fuses, test fine
6) swapped fuses, same issue on drivers side with known good fuse
7) multi-tester on leads on driver side bulb plug show no voltage when high beams engaged (.09v bleed through) makes me think it's back in fuse/relay but all tests good.
Only odd thing I have noticed is that there is no 'high beam' indicator on the dash when the stalk is set to engage high beams, is this a feature to warn that high beam(s) not working, in conjunction with SID msg?
HELP!
Thanks, Skip 99 9-3SE 73K
