New tire opinion: Yoko ES100

I've had the Yokohama ES100s on my '00 9-3SE for about 1000 miles now and for the price they are really great (tirerack $78 each). The wet and dry traction is pretty good, but I did notice the softer sidewall from the Pilots they replaced. There definately is a slower reaction into turns because of the sidewall flex but they still handle great. The Michelins were almost fully worn and seemed to grip better than the Yokos, but the Yokos will beat the Michelins in treadlife so it's worth the tradeoff. The ES100s DRAMATICALLY reduced tramlining and torque steer so I am pleased by that. The ride is a lot smoother with the Yokos too. Both are probably due to having new tires and not the fault of the brand (I run 36psi all around). I recommend these tires to anyone that wants above average performance and doesn't want to break the bank. Also, I can't say enough good things about tirerack and their local recommended installer, I had a great experience and will be returning to both for my next set of tires.
