I also have a '99 9-3 which had the same problem. At first it did not close properly so I would just play with the switch until it would. Then as time went on it got worst to the point it would just get stuck and not close at all. We had to take it to the dealer to get it fixed. Our extended warrantee took care of it so I was glad we had just gotten it. You should look into the problem before it gets worst.
