Delayed Throttle, Rough Idle, Stalling

'97 900SE 2.0L Turbo, 145k, TB & AIC cleaned last fall,
For the past month, there's a 1/2 second delay from the throttle plate opening to the RPM's kicking in above idle.
Today, while driving, the engine just decided to quit. There wasn't enough power to restart the car. Called AAA and tow truck jump started but the car wanted to stall so I kept the RPM's above 2k to prevent this.. -a bit difficult in a manual, and poor hand brake. Anyway, I drove away, 1,000ft later, the car stalls again. This time there was enough power to restart, but quickly stalls after a few seconds. -Repeated 2 times until I was out of crankable power.
Called AAA again and had the car towed home. I restarted teh car with a battery pack and appears to run ok, with or without battery pack after starting. However, minutes later, it stalls again. I restarted and quickly ran to grab the throttle cable to keep the 2k rpms... Car stalls again.. However, this time with the hood open, I could hear a "woosh" sound from the passenger side. (I do have a cone air filter, and aluminum billet dump valve, but can't imagine that much pressure being dumped at idle)
Any thoughts? I will check out the canister purge valve tomorrow..
Thanks,
