seatbelt replaced, now ABS idiot light on

Need a little help here.
I replaced the driver's side front belt (dog-chew replacement). All seemed to go OK, but now the ABS warning light comes on when the car is started. The light stays on.
I disconnected the battery to see if this would clear the error, but it did not.
Is this something that requires a reset with OBD? Or could I actually have messed up the side airbags? (seems unlikely, very easy job to replace belts)
Details: 2001 SE, power seats.
