Assuming similar to '96 900SET, of which I have changed back and forth between stock and Speedparts Stage II a couple of times, and with the caveat that your aftermarket alarm may make some or all of this not apply to you, here goes:
1. Simple swap. ECU is mounted below passenger (RH) side A-pillar, tucked up behind the outboard side of the glove box. It is possible to get at it by pulling back the carrpeting liner, but I find it easier to work with if I remove the glove box first. There used to be instructions with pictures on genuinesaab.com. Maybe still there?
2. I never bothered to disconnect the battery. YMMV.
3. No idea, but not in the ECU.
/Geoff
