I had a problem like this in Viggen, then later it quit altogether. I pulled over and checked the battery, and one of the cables was vibrated loose from the battery terminal. I tighened it back up and was on my way and haven't had such problems again.
Regarding DIC, I was having some performance weakness that new plugs and technron didn't fix. Nothing serious, just the car was a little less lively. I ordered and received a new DIC from a Saabnet sponsor (Eeuroparts) and installed it. Instant fresh power again. The old one is not fully broken, but not fully effective either. I kept it for a spare for my wife's 9-5.
I was at the dealership Saturday. In what was apparently corner trash/recycle pile, there were 3 dead DICs laying there. They also mentioned it was their best month ever and attributed it to the GM employee discount program and expect they will have trouble staying stocked with new vehicles through the summer.
