Hello!
When I started my 1997 900SET this evening, I heard a lound "thunk" followed by the battery light coming on. I immediately thought I must have thrown a belt, shut off the car and popped the hood.
What I found (to my severe dismay) was that the upper idler pulley mount had sheared right off of the engine! It was just getting dark when this happened, so I didn't get to look around for any other details.
So, a couple of questions for the experts:
1. Has anyone experienced this before?
2. Is the idler mount something that can be replaced easily?
Thanks in advance for your counsel....I at least had a pleasant 3 mile walk home from the store! :)
