clutch cable warranty...follow up question

Got my cable replaced under warranty at the local SAAB dealer here in St. Paul. Sort of a head ache with the dealer to take care of. When I got the cable home I noticed that the rubber piece that snaps into the midway bracket has a rip in the front lip(towards the clutch end). I know that this bracket is important for the adjustment. I was wondering if this is a fatal flaw in the cable since it looks like that lip is supposed to prevent the cable from sliding through the bracket. With it torn there would be nothing to prevent it from sliding. Should I take it back and deal with the parts guy again, maybe superglue it, or just not worry about it?
