When I bought my '99 Vig, I had the same 4 questions and the same 4 annoyances.

1. Ticking is normal. I am sure someone like Dean can explain it so I will spare the embarassment and wont even try.

2. There is a fuse you can pull to turn off the driving lights. I dont remember which it is, but I believe it is diagrammed on the back of the fuse cover (or in the manual). I performed the same procedure.

3. What a pain the way the ACC system blasts like that. I hated it so much, I almost drove my car off a cliff. Finally based on advice from this board I took it into my dealer and they used the Tech 2 tool to program it to remain OFF until I turn it on. Be careful though, the next time they use the Tech 2 tool again, it could return it to factory default like happened to me.

4. I cant even begin to tell you about my audio problems. My AM wont work, speakers suck, etc. and the dealer wont fix the radio unless I purchase a new one which I was quoted $1200 for. I love the Viggen, but not enough to screw with the goofy proprietary electronics so I eventually bought another car that I drive when I need to listen to baseball on AM.

Good luck! You will enjoy the car in the long run once you get used to the 'excentricities'.
