Yes, there are two CATs on T7s. The first lights-off faster and reduces emissions from cold starts*. All production since 1996 (with ODB-II) has two O2 sensors. The second sensor detects if the cat converter has failed and the first one and/or second provide AFR feedback. With a V6, there can be 4 sensors. When a T7 DIC fails at highway speeds, the unburnt fuel hits the first CAT converter and that often enough destroys it. This was not common on the T5 systems with the single larger CAT under the engine. So a performance DP with the single cat may be better able to survive a dead DIC.
If there was room to put a single large CAT right after the turbo, they would do that. With NA engines, a CAT can be right after or part of the manifold, and perhaps there are applications where that is the only CAT.
