My Saab 900 V6 with 360000kms on the clock which I have had since new is starting to drive me to distraction, well that is if it would drive.
Just a little background, the car travels about 200kms per day commuting to and from work, over the past two years I have had an annoying problem.
Innitaly, on hot days 38c plus, the car would appear to just lose power for a second or so when cruising at 110kmph. Just like the engine stalled and restarted as the car is a manual and was still in gear.
I drove the car straight unto my mechanic's workshop, and you guessed it, the damn car works fine, no sign of problems.
This has happened on a number of occasions since.
This again happened last week, but my wife was driving and she had just completed about 70km of 110kmph driving. Once off the freeway, if she took her foot off the accelerator, the engine would stall. Revs had to be maintained above 1500 rpm at all times.
The car is back at the mechanics, the problem is no longer there, but there are no Codes coming up.
My thoughts initialy was some from of fuel delivery problem, but my mechanic does not think this is the case.
Any ideas what could cause this problem?
I have heard the following:
Fuel Pump, though my mechnics does not thingk this is the case.
MAS,
Coilpack,
Ignition switch, my mechnics thought.
Any help or suggestion woud be greatly appreciated.
