I'll use the key or remote to lock unlock, no rhyme or reason, just whatever is convenient. If the alarm went off every time I used the key to unlock after locking with remote, trust me I'd be driving something else!
I have heard this said several times and I can't believe we would have to remember how we locked our car, whenever that was.
I learned the hard way about reaching in to unlock. The alarm went off and I could only disable for a few seconds - would start right back wailing.
I disconnected the battery and after reconnecting and driving off no problems after that.
Lock / unlock with remote or key no difference.
Other opinions on alarm behaviour appreciated!
Which reminds me, to have a 1/2" socket (battery) handy along with 17mm (wheel lugs) in the event my tool box isn't in the car.
