A few quick questions, I'm sure if I waded through all these posts I could find my answers, but I am hoping you will find it in your hearts to answer them.
This is my 3rd SAAB, but all others were OG900's, this is my first 9-3, and to make matters worse (or better from my perspective) it's a Viggen.
Again I hope you can find it in your hearts to address them. Oh, did I mention I managed to latch onto a low miles Monte Carlo Yellow....:-)
1) What is oil capacity (with filter change), manual says 4.01 quarts, but I have seen posts that indicate this is low.
2)Brake warning light, along with audio alarm when going around sharp right turn. Have checked break fluid level, even had fluid drained and refilled (along with air bleed), but alarm still happens in tight right turn. Mechanic say's pads and rotors are fine for another 10,000 K. Any Ideas?
3)Water drops from behind dash onto gas pedal foot going around tight right turn. Just discovered this, this weekend when driving home from 300+ mile trip, while wearing no shoes. AC seems to be working fine. It was just a few drops, but water none the less.
4)Aftermarket wheels that came with car are bent to the point steering wheel whobbles when driving. It's time to replace tires, so wheels are going to happen at the same time. What offset should I be looking for on a 2000 Viggen, and does that change if I want to go to 18" wheels?
5) I have no shop manual for this car so this question may make no sence to you but here goes. Checking under the hood before last weekend's trip, I discovered a black tube coming out of the center of the firewall, which seem to go nowhere, it is molded into a shutoff. Mine is cracked and a black element (for lack of a better word) seems to be coming out of it. Any idea what this is, or better still any idea where I can find a Shop manual for a 2000 Viggen?
6) Passenger side head light (entire unit) was replaced before I bought the car (rock through the lense), but looking at it, it appears to be fogged on the inside (dryed condensation?), and is generally dimmer than the drivers side. Can I remove the light, open it up and clean the inside, or should I replace the entire unit?
Thanks in advance for answering these questions (as I'm sure they have all been asked before).
Long Time SAAB Lover:
Rick
