I have a '99 9-3 SE auto with about 100k. I'm gathering momentum toward a series of DIY performance mods and am assessing the car's general health (I put up a post yesterday about a transmition behavior I've noticed)...
I'm relatively new to DIY but have tinkered under the hood a bit and with the help of the many Saab wizards on this site, feel more and more comfortable with taking on some of the DIY performance mods. I've read a few posts on headbolts and am hoping someone can write a solid explanation for the need for checking these, how to do the job if it's a DIY, tools/parts needed (assume torque wrench but what else?)...in general, any help and advice you can provide is immensly appreciated!
ALSO, assuming this is something I should check prior to boosting the car's performance...what's the risk if I did not do this...please advise.
Thanks everyone!
Wesley
