Hello all,

Just found out that my '89 900S has frame rust and it isn't worth the repair costs. So I managed to find, and buy for a song, a '99 9-3 with 109k.

Odd things:
1. Front bumper is from a NG900. The front body panels are original, the headlights (judging from pitting) are probably original, so whatever bump it was in was probably just on the bumper itself. How much should I pay to get a 9-3 bumper? Can I just get a 9-3 bumper cover?

2. Sunroof seems a little finicky, I'm going to grease it ... any suggestions? It works, but just kind of ... is a little jumpy. It's hard to explain. Seems like it's not sliding smoothly on the tracks, but I didn't notice any weird noises.

3. I don't have repair records. I know, I know, I'm walking the line. Anyway, I hear serpentine belt and idler pulleys should be replaced. What's the benefit of the short-belt mod that I hear of? Any drawbacks? Should I have the headbolts retorqued just to be sure? How are the radiators/water pumps/etc?

4. Is there anything I should be especially careful of, listen for, or pre-emptively fix? I'm planning on procuring a spare DI...
